For most of the past eighteen years I've been self-employed in construction and development. I've worked closely with many small business owners across Michigan. I understand first hand the undue burden the state places on its entrepreneurs.

I’ve been a Michigan resident my entire life except for a brief stint in Mainz Germany with the United States Army. I also recently returned from Florida where I spent just over a year running a cogeneration facility.

I spent a number of years in the power generation business. I trained for and received a Boiler Operators license from the city of Detroit and worked for Combustion Engineering at the Greater Detroit Resource Recovery Facility where we produced steam and electricity from municipal solid waste (garbage). In addition to power generation I also have a background in HVAC.

I graduated from North Central Michigan College. More importantly is my autodidactic education. I’ve read and studied extensively. A great passion of mine is political theory. From Plato to Hobbs, Marx to Adam Smith, I’ve run the gamut of the greatest political thinkers throughout the ages.
